About Wartales - The Skelmar Invasion
Plunge into Ormance, a once-defended county now overrun by the largest invasion in its history. The Skelmars, united for the first time under the cruel High Jarl Sven, chosen by the Gods, have joined forces to raid Edoran in a ruthless quest for its riches and fertile lands. This unprecedented alliance of clans has torn through the region, leaving chaos and ruin in its wake.
Find the county’s last stronghold fallen and its defenders scattered. Rescue the Countess, rally the surviving forces, and liberate each barony to drive the Skelmar horde back. Be at the heart of a fierce struggle to restore Ormance and protect Edoran from total ruin. Are you prepared enough to reconquer this land?
Liberate Ormance
Reclaim the county of Ormance, one barony at a time. Each area you encounter is a land in ruins, occupied by the Skelmars, steeped in chaos and scarred by war. The Skelmars have seized and fortified every stronghold and landmark, while other locations lie in ruins, unusable until you drive out the invaders.
Liberate each barony by targeting and defeating the stronghold at its heart, bringing life back to the land. Local allies will emerge from hiding to recognize your efforts, and destroyed locations can be rebuilt by investing materials, restoring them to full functionality and strengthening the war effort. But as long as the stronghold remains under Skelmar control, the barony will remain occupied.
Rally the War Effort
Rally the War Effort in Ormance to push back the Skelmar invaders. In liberated areas, local factions can be recruited to the cause. Each location can either produce valuable resources or offer unique benefits, such as increased supplies from farms or military support from watchtowers. Choose wisely and build a powerful network of resistance. Each liberated area strengthens the War Effort, making each decision a decisive step towards reclaiming Ormance.
Manage three essential war resources. Manpower, to enlist support from skillful local combatants in battle. Construction materials, used to rebuild destroyed landmarks and key infrastructure. Supplies, to keep your forces well fed and equipped.
Break the Siege
Prepare for intense Stronghold sieges, where each battle can unfold in up to two thrilling phases. As you gather your forces outside the fortress and face the enemy defenders stationed in front of the wall, your allies may already be engaged in battle. Breach the defenses by destroying the door, creating an opening for your troops to surge forward.
Once fallen, the door reveals the heart of the fortress. Navigate the interior, confront the enemy forces and claim victory by eliminating their leader. Keep an eye on the WatchTowers, as they will rain arrows down on your forces until they are neutralized. It's time to seize the moment and reclaim Ormance from the wrath of the Skelmar!
