Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks: What Is Actually Included in 2026

Game Pass Ultimate bundles day-one releases, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, Fortnite Crew and 4x Rewards. What each is actually worth, what is not included, and whether it beats Premium.

Short answer: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes day-one releases, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, Fortnite Crew, premium cloud gaming and 4x Microsoft Rewards points, on top of everything in Premium and Essential. Those bundled services are the entire reason Ultimate costs about $96 a year more than Premium — $275.99 versus $179.88 on our live tracker.

The word "perks" gets used for two different things, which is why this is confusing. There are the bundled subscriptions that come with Ultimate permanently, and there are the rotating in-game benefits — free skins, currency and boosts — that appear and expire in the Perks gallery. This guide covers both, and is honest about which ones most people never use.

The Permanent Perks: What Ultimate Bundles

These come with the tier and do not rotate.

EA PlayThe EA vault plus trials of new EA gamesYou play FIFA/EA FC, Battlefield, Need for Speed, Mass Effect

In-game benefitsThe rotating Perks gallery, belowVaries wildly

Fortnite Crew is the one people undervalue. It is a paid subscription in its own right, and if anyone in your household already pays for it separately, folding it into Ultimate changes the value calculation completely. The same logic applies to EA Play: if you were paying for it standalone, Ultimate absorbs that cost.

Ubisoft+ Classics is the one people overvalue. It is a curated back-catalogue selection, not the full Ubisoft+ service, so do not assume a specific recent Ubisoft game is included.

The Perks gallery is a rotating set of free in-game items tied to games in and around the catalogue — cosmetics, in-game currency, XP boosts, starter packs. You claim them from the Perks tab on console or in the Xbox app, and each has an expiry date.

Three things worth knowing:

They expire, and unclaimed perks are simply lost. They cost nothing to claim, so claiming everything the moment it appears is free even for games you do not play — the entitlement sits on your account if you try the game later.

The value is real but highly variable. A month might offer a Sea of Thieves cosmetic bundle and a few thousand units of in-game currency for a game you do not play. Another might include a meaningful currency drop for something you play daily. Averaged out it is a bonus, not a reason to subscribe.

Some are one-per-account, some refresh. Currency drops for live-service games often recur monthly; cosmetic bundles usually do not.

What Ultimate Does NOT Include

Worth stating plainly, because the marketing does not:

  • Every new game on day one. Day-one means Xbox-published titles. Third-party launches are generally not included.
  • The full Ubisoft+ catalogue. Classics is a subset.
  • Permanent ownership. Everything in the catalogue is borrowed. When a game leaves, your access ends — see games leaving Game Pass.
  • Discord Nitro. Nitro has appeared as a limited-time promotional offer for members at various points; it is not a standing part of the tier. Check the Perks gallery rather than assuming.

Are the Perks Worth $96 a Year?

That is the real question, since Premium already gives you the catalogue, online multiplayer and cloud gaming. Price the Ultimate extras against what you would otherwise pay:

  • If you pay for Fortnite Crew separately, that alone eats a large share of the $96 gap.
  • If you pay for EA Play separately, same.
  • If you buy two or more Xbox-published games at launch each year, day-one access covers the gap on its own.
  • If none of those apply, you are paying about $96 a year for Ubisoft+ Classics, faster cloud queues and 4x Rewards — which is a harder sell.

Run it against your own habits with the Game Pass calculator, and if the answer is that Premium is enough, our tier comparison covers exactly what you would give up.

Getting the Most Out of What You Pay For

If you are already on Ultimate, three habits recover value most people leave on the table:

  1. Claim every perk, every month. Free, takes two minutes, and entitlements persist.
  2. Actually use Microsoft Rewards. 4x points is a headline feature that does nothing unless you complete the activities and redeem the points for store credit — credit that can go toward next year's membership.
  3. Buy catalogue games you love at the member discount. Games you play from the catalogue are usually discounted for members, and a bought copy does not disappear when the game leaves. Check current discounts alongside the member price.

Frequently Asked Questions

What perks come with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate?

Ultimate includes day-one Xbox-published releases, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, Fortnite Crew, premium cloud gaming and 4x Microsoft Rewards points, plus everything in Premium and Essential and a rotating gallery of in-game benefits.

Is Fortnite Crew included with Game Pass Ultimate?

Yes. Fortnite Crew is one of the bundled services in Ultimate, which includes the Battle Pass, monthly V-Bucks and a skin bundle. If you were paying for Crew separately, that covers a large part of the price gap between Premium and Ultimate on its own.

Is Discord Nitro free with Xbox Game Pass?

Discord Nitro has been offered as a limited-time promotion to Game Pass members at various points, but it is not a permanent part of the tier. Check the Perks gallery in the Xbox app or on console to see whether an offer is currently live.

Do Game Pass perks expire?

Yes. Items in the in-game benefits gallery each have an expiry date and are lost if not claimed. Claiming costs nothing, so it is worth claiming everything even for games you do not currently play — the entitlement stays on your account.

Is Game Pass Ultimate worth it over Premium?

It is worth about $96 a year to you if you play Xbox-published games at launch, or if you would otherwise pay separately for Fortnite Crew or EA Play. If none of those apply, Premium gives you the same catalogue, online multiplayer and cloud gaming for less.
